about

For the story, I imagined a scene: A woman standing in a doorway, well dressed, bags at her side. She looks back with a long pause, then leaves. I waned to tell the backstory of that scene. The chorus expresses the hope that exists in despair.

lyrics

The gaze of the two
Whose hearts were one,
Bright as the sun.
Our hands held so strong.
Forever, they said.
The tarot was read.
But now..
Despair in your eye,
A quivering sigh.

But someday, I know,
We'll walk in the sun.

The haze of our years.
The lines on my face.
The salt of your tears.
God knows we tried.
When words are denied,
Your delicate eyes
Say you'll go.
Pass through the door.
I know you no more.

But someday, I know,
We'll walk in the sun.
